Updated Customer Owned Banking Code of Practice Released Talk to us Phone us Email us Breadcrumbs UniBank About Us Member news & media 2014 Updated Customer Owned Banking Code of Practice Released 05 March 2014 05 March 2014 Updated Customer Owned Banking Code of Practice Released The Customer Owned Banking Code of Practice “COBCOP” (formerly called the ‘Mutual Banking Code of Practice’) was introduced in July 2009 by Abacus Australian Mutuals (now called the Customer Owned Banking Association, “COBA”), the industry body for the mutual banking sector, representing mutuals and friendly societies. The Code sets standards of fair and responsible banking practice for mutuals to follow when dealing with members. Although it is not compulsory for mutuals and friendly societies to adopt the Code, Unicredit has chosen to do so. Unicredit is committed to acting with members’ interests at heart. As part of our ongoing commitment, we meet high regulatory and self-regulatory standards and provide members with ways to raise concerns or complaints, should they arise. The updated version of the COBCOP dated January 2014 is the result of a review conducted in 2013, where COBA has materially accepted the recommendations in the report and has subsequently drafted and released the 2014 version of the COBCOP.
