As explained in recent media articles, the change will effect all major card issuers, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners Club International. With the change to become effective from 1 August 2014, Unicredit has already started communicating this to members. An industry initiative “PIN @ POS” has been launched by the credit union industry body, Cuscal, to help credit union’s and building society’s such as Unicredit prepare members for the upcoming change. A recent media article “PIN not pen needed for credit card” has been released on The West Australian Online dated 22/1/14. If any Unicredit member has any questions, or would like to ensure a PIN is set up on their Visa Debit card, please contact Unicredit on 1800 864 864.
